Invertek Variable Speed Drives for Quarry Extraction Fans
Dust extraction is required in Australian quarry and mineral-processing operations. Extraction fans remove airborne dust from crushers, screens and transfer points. In fixed-speed systems, fans often use more energy than required during reduced production.

The motor must be suitable for VSD operation. At low speed, reduced cooling may require a minimum speed limit, derating or independent cooling.

Installation considerations
IP20 drives are installed inside electrical panels. IP55 or IP66 models may suit site-mounted applications. Selection must consider dust, moisture, ambient temperature, cooling and maintenance access.
The design should also address motor protection, minimum speed, interlocks, restart behaviour, emergency-stop arrangements, motor-cable installation and EMC. Installers must confirm any hazardous-area classification before selecting equipment.
