HARTING Protection Cover For Push-Pull Receptacle With Fixing Cord

The Harting 09458450009 is a is a protective cap accessory for HARTING RJ Industrial® Push-Pull RJ45 receptacles. When fitted, it seals the receptacle opening to IP67 per IEC 60529 — protecting against dust ingress and temporary submersion in water to 1 m depth for up to 30 minutes. An integrated fixing cord tethers the cap to the installation, preventing loss during removal, and a panel-fixing hole for an M3 screw allows the cord to be anchored securely to the panel or enclosure. Also available in a 100-piece bulk pack under the XL designation (09 45 845 0009 XL).

Push-Pull RJ45 Receptacle Protection

HARTING RJ Industrial® Push-Pull connectors use a push-to-lock, push-to-release coupling mechanism that provides a more vibration-resistant and tamper-resistant connection than the standard RJ45 snap-lock latch. The receptacle (female panel-mount half) needs protection from dust, moisture, and contamination when no plug is connected — particularly in environments where the connector may be exposed to washdown, outdoor conditions, or industrial particulates between service events.

The easy dust cap is specifically profiled to seat correctly in the Push-Pull receptacle interface, achieving the IP67 seal when fitted. Improper or generic caps that don't match the Push-Pull receptacle geometry will not achieve the rated IP67 level. Using the correct HARTING accessory ensures the installation maintains its environmental rating during idle periods.

Tethered Design with Fixing Cord

The cap includes a fixing cord that connects it to a small panel-mount anchor point. The anchor features a hole for an M3 screw (recommended tightening torque 0.3–0.35 N.m) with a ø3.1 mm pilot hole and ø4.5 mm clearance, allowing it to be fixed to the panel surface adjacent to the receptacle. This means the cap is always available at the point of use — it cannot be misplaced during service operations, which is a common practical problem with loose dust caps on frequently accessed service ports.

The cord itself is approximately 80 mm in usable length (with a 25 mm fixed section at the cap end), giving enough reach to move the cap clear of the receptacle without detaching it from the panel.

Dimensions

Body length: 32.3 mm maximum. Panel face cross-section: 17.65 mm × 18 mm maximum. The cap body is compact and does not project significantly beyond the panel surface when fitted.
