Han Housing Bulkhead Mount Size 16B Single Locking Lever

The Harting 09300160307 Han 16B HBM single lever is a size 16B bulkhead-mounted base housing from HARTING's Han® B series, providing the panel-fixed half of a Han B 16B heavy-duty connector assembly. It is the single-lever counterpart to the Han 16B HBM Double Lever (09 30 016 0301), offering the same aluminium die-cast, low-construction housing in a configuration where a single locking lever is the preferred or required engagement mechanism. Like the double lever version, it is Han-Easy Lock® compatible, allowing fast one-handed engagement — the key difference lies in the lever geometry and the clamping arrangement, not in the level of protection or material quality.

Single Lever: When Simplicity is the Priority

The choice between single and double lever housings typically comes down to installation requirements and connector access. A single locking lever reduces the mechanical complexity of the mating action and can be advantageous where the connector is mounted in a position that makes reaching both sides of a double lever awkward, or where a simpler engagement sequence is preferred for operator workflows. The single lever still works with Han-Easy Lock® for fast, reliable latching. For higher-vibration environments or applications where even clamping force across both sides of the housing is critical, the double lever variant (09 30 016 0301) should be considered instead.

Low Construction, IP65, Wide Temperature Range

The housing is low construction, sitting close to the panel surface — suitable for control cabinets and equipment enclosures where bulkhead depth is limited. It achieves IP65 to IEC 60529, fully blocking dust and resisting water jets from any direction. UL 50 / UL 50E Type ratings of 4, 4X, and 12 confirm protection against windblown rain and hose-directed water (Type 4), corrosion resistance (Type 4X), and indoor protection against dust and dripping non-corrosive liquids (Type 12). Operating range is -40°C to +125°C.

Aluminium Die-Cast, NBR Seal, UL 94 V-0 Locking Lever

The housing body is aluminium die-cast, powder-coated in RAL 7037 dust grey, built for the mechanical wear of active industrial use. The NBR sealing element maintains IP65 across the full temperature range and resists oils and common industrial process fluids. The single locking lever is polycarbonate and stainless steel, rated UL 94 V-0 for flame retardancy. At 102g, it is slightly lighter than the double lever version due to the reduced lever mechanism.

The housing holds CE marking and DNV GL approval, and is fully certified to UL 1977 (ECBT2.E235076) and CSA-C22.2 No. 182.3 (ECBT8.E235076) for the North American market. It is RoHS and ELV compliant, and REACH Annex XIV and Annex XVII substances are not contained. One REACH SVHC substance is present: Potassium 1,1,2,2,3,3,4,4,4-nonafluorobutane-1-sulphonate. California Proposition 65 substances Nickel and Naphthalene are also present.
