Han 16 B Protection Cover

The Harting 09300165425 Han B Protect Cover Die Cast for Base is a die-cast metal protection cover from HARTING's Han® B series, designed to seal size 16B bulkhead-mounted and surface-mounted connector bases whenever the connector is left unmated. It is the 16B member of the die-cast base cover family — sharing the same dual low/high construction compatibility and fixing cord retention as the 10B version (09 30 010 5425) and providing a single part number that fits the full range of 16B base housing depths.

Fits Both Low and High Construction 16B Bases

Like its 10B counterpart, this cover is compatible with both low construction and high construction 16B base housings, including the Han 16B HBM Double Lever (09 30 016 0301) and Han 16B HBM Single Lever (09 30 016 0307). Rather than stocking a separate cover for each housing depth, one part number covers both variants. IP65, Wide Temperature Range, Metal Construction

The cover body is die-cast metal, delivering the mechanical durability required in active industrial environments. Fitted to the base, it achieves IP65 to IEC 60529 — complete dust exclusion and resistance to water jets from any direction. UL 50 / UL 50E Type ratings of 4, 4X, and 12 provide recognised North American equivalents: protection against windblown rain and hose-directed water (Type 4), corrosion resistance (Type 4X), and indoor protection against dust and dripping non-corrosive liquids (Type 12). The operating range of -40°C to +125°C covers cold-chain, outdoor, and high-heat plant environments. At 70g, it is proportionally heavier than the 10B cover (51.7g) reflecting the larger 16B footprint.

Double Locking Lever with Integrated Fixing Cord

The cover engages with the double locking levers of the 16B base housing and includes an integrated fixing cord that keeps it tethered to the housing when removed — preventing it from being misplaced during maintenance or connector mating. No additional tools or hardware are required to fit and secure it.

The cover is RoHS and ELV compliant. REACH Annex XIV, Annex XVII, and SVHC substances are all confirmed not contained — a clean profile on all three REACH categories. It meets EN 45545-2 (2020-08) fire protection requirements for railway vehicles at Hazard Levels 1–3 under requirement sets R1 and R7, and carries DNV GL approval for marine and offshore applications.
