Description

The Harting 09330006102 Han E M Crimp Contact Ag is a male pin contact for the HARTING Han E® connector system, designed for crimp termination onto 2.5 mm² (AWG 14) conductors. It is the fundamental building block of a Han E crimp-contact assembly: individual contacts are crimped onto conductors in the field, then inserted into a Han E insert body to form a complete connector. This male variant is the pin-side contact; it mates with its female socket counterpart during connector engagement.

Rated at 16 A operating current with a contact resistance of ≤1 mΩ, the Han E M Crimp Contact Ag is suited to power and signal circuits in industrial automation, machine building, and control panel wiring where reliable, low-resistance termination is required in a compact, individually-insertable contact format.

Han E® System Context: Individual Contacts vs. Complete Inserts

The Han E® series is one of HARTING's most widely deployed heavy-duty connector families for mixed-signal and power applications. Unlike the Han B HsB screw-termination inserts — which are delivered as a complete pre-assembled insert with contacts fixed in position — the Han E crimp system separates the contact from the insert body. Installers crimp each contact individually onto its conductor, then push the crimped contact into the Han E insert body until it clicks into the retention position. This approach offers significant flexibility: contacts can be swapped in the field without replacing the insert, and the crimp termination produces a gas-tight, vibration-resistant joint that is particularly suited to dynamic environments.

Contact identification is provided by 3 grooves machined into the contact body, allowing visual and tactile verification of the contact type during assembly.

Crimp Termination

Crimping requires a calibrated crimp tool matched to the 2.5 mm² / AWG 14 conductor range. The conductor stripping length is 7.5 mm. A correctly executed crimp produces a cold-welded joint between the conductor strands and the contact barrel — a gas-tight connection with minimal contact resistance and excellent resistance to vibration-induced loosening. Unlike screw termination, no periodic re-torquing is required; the crimp joint is a permanent, maintenance-free termination.

Electrical Ratings

- Operating current: ≤16 A
- Contact resistance: ≤1 mΩ
- Conductor cross-section: 2.5 mm² / AWG 14
- Stripping length: 7.5 mm
- Standards: EN 60664-1, IEC 61984

Materials

Contact body and pin are copper alloy with a silver-plated surface finish. Silver plating provides low and stable contact resistance and resistance to oxidation over the service life of the contact. Silver surfaces also tolerate higher fretting and micro-motion than gold, making them a good fit for industrial environments subject to vibration.

Compliance

RoHS compliant with exemption 6(c) — copper alloy contacts containing up to 4% lead by weight. ELV compliant with the same exemption. REACH SVHC substance Lead is present (inherent to the copper alloy); REACH Annex XIV and Annex XVII substances are not contained. China RoHS: 50. Manufactured in Germany.
