Han Crimp Tool with Locator

The HARTING Han Crimp Tool with Locator (09 99 000 0021) is a crimping tool for field and workshop termination of HARTING Han D®, Han E®, and Han-Yellock® crimp contacts. It covers conductor cross-sections from 0.14 mm² to 2.5 mm² in a single handheld ratchet tool and is supplied with a locator included — the positioning insert that ensures correct contact alignment in the crimp head. Why Use a Dedicated Harting Crimping Tool?

HARTING Han® crimp contacts — including the Han E® silver-plated range (1.0, 1.5, and 2.5 mm²) — are not soldered or screw-terminated. Instead, the stripped conductor is inserted into the contact's crimp barrel and the barrel is deformed under controlled pressure to create a gas-tight, mechanically secure connection between the wire and the contact. This gas-tight joint is critical to long-term reliability: it prevents oxidation at the conductor-contact interface, which over time causes increased contact resistance and potential connection failure.

Achieving a correct crimp requires a tool that applies the right force profile, compresses the barrel to the correct final geometry, and positions the contact consistently relative to the crimp die. A ratchet mechanism ensures the tool cannot be released before the full crimp cycle is completed, preventing under-crimped joints that may pass initial inspection but fail in service.

This single tool covers three HARTING Han® contact families:

• Han D®: conductor cross-sections 0.14–1.5 mm²
• Han E®: conductor cross-sections 0.5–2.5 mm²
• Han-Yellock®: conductor cross-sections 0.5–2.5 mm²
