Harting Han 24B Series Double Locking Lever Bulkhead
The Harting 09300241301 Han 24B Base Panel 2 Levers IP67 is a size 24B bulkhead-mounted base housing from HARTING's Han® B series, distinguished from the standard 24B base housing (09 30 024 0301) by its dual IP65 and IP67 protection rating. Where the standard version is rated for complete dust exclusion and water jet resistance (IP65), this housing additionally achieves IP67 — meaning it withstands temporary submersion in water to 1 metre depth for up to 30 minutes. For installations where the connector may be exposed to flooding, wash-down, or standing water, this is the correct 24B base housing to specify.
IP65 and IP67: When Water Jet Protection Is Not Enough
IP65 handles the majority of industrial wet environments — rain, hose-directed cleaning, splash. IP67 goes further, providing a sealed enclosure that survives brief submersion. This matters in food and beverage processing (where housings are regularly hosed or pressure-washed), outdoor installations subject to pooling water, marine deck fittings, and any environment where the connector base could be temporarily submerged during operation or cleaning cycles. Both ratings are certified to IEC 60529, and UL 50 / UL 50E Type ratings of 4, 4X, and 12 cover the equivalent North American classifications. Mating cycles are rated at ≥500, and M4 fixing screws should be torqued to 1 Nm. Use is specified as a connector in accordance with IEC 61984.
Low Construction, Double Lever, Han-Easy Lock®
The housing is low construction — sitting close to the panel surface for installation in depth-constrained enclosures — with double locking levers and Han-Easy Lock® compatibility for reliable one-handed engagement. These features are consistent with the rest of the 24B Han B base family; the IP67 upgrade does not change the connector interface or mating procedure.
Aluminium Die-Cast, NBR Seal, UL 94 V-0 Locking Levers
The housing body is aluminium die-cast, powder-coated RAL 7037 dust grey. The NBR seal provides the environmental sealing necessary for both the IP65 and IP67 ratings, maintaining performance across the operating temperature range specified for use per IEC 61984. Locking levers are polycarbonate and stainless steel, rated UL 94 V-0 for flame retardancy.
Certifications and Compliance
The housing holds CE marking and DNV GL approval, and is certified to UL 1977 (ECBT2.E235076) and CSA-C22.2 No. 182.3 (ECBT8.E235076). It meets EN 45545-2 (2020-08) + A1 (2023-10) fire protection requirements for railway vehicles at Hazard Levels 1–3 under requirement sets R1 and R7 — notably citing the 2023 A1 amendment, making it the most current railway fire standard reference in this range. It is RoHS and ELV compliant, and REACH Annex XIV and Annex XVII substances are not contained. One REACH SVHC substance is present: Potassium 1,1,2,2,3,3,4,4,4-nonafluorobutane-1-sulphonate. California Proposition 65 substances Nickel and Naphthalene are also present. These are mandatory disclosures; consult your compliance team for assessment in your specific application and market. Country of origin is China.
Where It's Used
The 24B IP67 base housing is suited to the same high contact density applications as the standard 24B variant, with the addition of environments requiring submersion protection — food processing, outdoor machinery, marine installations, and wash-down applications. Where the standard 24B base is adequate for protected or indoor use, specify this housing wherever standing water or immersion is a realistic risk.
