Fully submersible 4-20mA output accelerometer with internal Faraday cage for PLC interface

Description

The Monitran MTN/2287W is a general-purpose, fully submersible, top-entry accelerometer designed for continuous vibration monitoring in harsh industrial environments. Built entirely from stainless steel and sealed to IP68, it delivers a two-wire 4–20 mA DC output proportional to rms acceleration — connecting directly to PLCs, DCS systems, and other industrial controllers without the need for additional signal conditioning. Internal electronics are enclosed in a Faraday cage and isolated to minimise noise. Includes integral stainless steel overbraided ETFE cable and is available with a wide range of mountings.

The transducer covers a frequency response of 2 Hz to 1 kHz (±10%) with a dynamic range of 50g peak and transverse sensitivity of less than 5%. Base isolation is included as standard, mounted base resonance is 5 kHz, and temperature sensitivity is just 0.08%/°C across an operating range of −25°C to +90°C. An integral stainless steel overbraided ETFE cable is supplied as standard at 5 m, with a maximum cable run of 100 m. Supply voltage is 12–32 V DC. Weight is approximately 150 g.

Three mounting configurations are available — ¼" UNF Female, Quick-Fit Female, and ½" NPT Male — each offered across five velocity ranges. A wide range of mounting studs, quick-fit adapters, mounting adapters, and isolation adapters is also available separately.
