DIN Rail Mounting Amplifier
Designed to be used in a control cabinet with other devices, the DR7AC is a small DIN rail-mounted signal conditioning amplifier for LVDT displacement transducers. With two 1kΩ bridge completion resistors installed, it can be used with almost any basic RDP LVDT (without integral electronics), most third-party LVDTs, including RDP's LIN and PY models (although PY output won't be analogue-linearized).
With a wide 9–36Vdc supply (250mA maximum) and user-selectable transducer excitation (1–3V, 3–5kHz, 25mA), the unit is adaptable enough for a variety of transducers and applications. Complete separation between the supply and output reduces electrical noise and guards against accidental damage.
There are three simultaneous outputs available: an industry-standard 4-20m, 0–10V, and ±10V.a current loop with an isolated loop resistance of 100–550Ω. With an amplifier gain range of 0.07 to 500 and a signal input range of 0.02–4V, it offers infinite resolution and ±0.05% F.S. linearity. With a 250Hz analogue bandwidth and a minimal temperature coefficient of ±0.01% F.S./°C, the output ripple is only 5mV rms (20µA rms on the current output).
The DR7AC, which is housed in a compact enclosure (115 × 99 × 23mm, 125g), is appropriate for harsh industrial settings because it can operate between -10°C and 60°C.
Note: According to RDP, the DR7AC should not be utilised as a safety, emergency-stop, or feedback device in situations where malfunction could result in harm, death, or damage to equipment.
