DC powered LVDT transducer amplifier
Designed to work with LVDT displacement transducers, the S7AC is a small, DC-powered signal conditioning amplifier. It is designed to be installed directly next to the transducer, enhancing the signal at the source and protecting it from electrical noise before it reaches your monitoring or recording equipment. It is housed in a sturdy die-cast aluminium housing.
A dual ±6V to ±18Vdc supply or a single 12V to 36Vdc floating supply (both at 50mA) can be accepted, and it offers two simultaneous outputs: an analogue voltage signal between ±4V and ±10V and a 4-20mA current loop output with loop resistance ranging from 100 to 550 Ω provides flexibility to communicate with a variety of downstream devices.
Key performance specifications include a 500Hz analogue output bandwidth, ±0.1% F.S. linearity error, minimal output ripple (5mV p-p on the voltage output, 10µA p-p on the current output), and a broad amplifier gain range of 0.07 to 500, which allows it to work with LVDTs from almost any manufacturer. With straightforward trimpot controls for zero and gain adjustment, it runs dependably between -10°C and 60°C and offers 1V, 5kHz transducer excitation (25mA max).
The S7AC is compatible with the majority of third-party LVDTs and any conventional RDP LVDT (without integrated electronics). It is small and light, weighing only 260g.
Note: RDP expressly cautions against using the S7AC as a safety, emergency stop, or feedback device in situations where a malfunction could result in harm, death, or damage to the equipment.
