115/230V AC powered LVDT transducer amplifier

Description

Designed to amplify and transform LVDT transducer signals into a useful output for monitoring or logging devices, the S7M is a mains-powered (115/230V, 50/60Hz) signal conditioning amplifier. It is designed to be installed near the transducer and is housed in a sturdy die-cast aluminium shell that provides effective electrical noise screening and strong environmental protection, making it ideal for industrial settings.

It has two outputs: a voltage signal of ±10V and a 4-20ma current loop that may drive up to 600Ω, providing flexibility for various monitoring configurations. With a transducer excitation of 5V at 5kHz (100mA max) and a very broad gain range (0.15 to 200) and straightforward trimpot controls for zero and span adjustment, the unit is compatible with the majority of LVDTs available on the market, not just RDP's own, including standard units and RDP's LIN and PY ranges when two 1kΩ bridge completion resistors are installed.
A 500Hz bandwidth, ±0.1% F.S. linearity error, and minimal temperature drift (±0.002%F.S./°C zero, ±0.004%F.S./°C span) across an operating range of -10°C to 50°C are key performance specifications. The weight of the unit is 1.8 kg.

Note: RDP expressly cautions against using the S7AC as a safety, emergency stop, or feedback device in situations where a malfunction could result in harm, death, or damage to the equipment.
