Important Update: Eurotherm 6000 Series Obsolescence and Your Upgrade Path
If you use Eurotherm 6000 series recorders, please note that ongoing supply chain issues will cause the platform to reach End of Life by the end of 2026.
Below is the timeline and key information to help you transition your data management systems smoothly.
The Obsolescence Timeline
The 6000 series is now in Level 1 Obsolescence. Please note the following milestones:
- June 30, 2026: Level 2 Obsolescence notification.
- December 31, 2026: Level 3 Obsolescence ("No Longer Available") announcement.
Note: If you use the Eycon series, it is completely unaffected by this change.
The Replacement: Edge Process Management (EPM)
Eurotherm is introducing Edge Process Management (EPM) as the replacement for the 6000 series in the Data Management range.
Identifying your replacement model is straightforward:
- Users of the 6100E, 6100A, and 6100XIO will transition to the EPM-07.
- Users of the 6180A, 6180XIO, and AeroDAQ will transition to the EPM-15.
Key Hardware Upgrades
Transitioning to the EPM platform offers significant technological improvements for process management:
- Massive Memory Increase: Onboard memory for recording jumps from 96MB to 4GB.
- Enhanced Displays: EPM units include widescreen TFT displays (7 inches for the EPM-07 and 15.6 inches for the EPM-15) with millions of colours, replacing older analog displays.
- Expanded I/O Capacity: Both units support more onboard analog inputs (up to 27 on the EPM-07 and 54 on the EPM-15). The EPM range also supports native I/O expansion for over 200 DIN rail-mounted channels.
