Laumas Load Cell & Mounting Plate for Chemical Batching & Agitated Reactor Vessels

Precision is key in chemical and pharmaceutical manufacturing; measurement systems must be robust in mixing environments, withstand mechanical forces, retain high accuracy, and ensure safety in hazardous settings.

 

Top-entry agitators and mixers are one such application in chemical production that requires constant measurement, while also allowing flammable vapours to enter the local atmosphere through the mixing process. With this risk in mind, all nearby equipment requires ATEX and IECEx certification to prevent sparking or combustion of surrounding vapours.

 

Speaking for the weighing systems, Laumas designs robust weighing systems and components for hazardous applications. For mixing applications such as top-entry agitators, Laumas CBL and CX series compression load cells are designed with ATEX and IECEx ratings covering both Intrinsically Safe Zone 0/1, 20/21 and Non-Sparking/Dust Protection Zone 2/22 options.

 

 

Both CBL and CX series are built with stainless steel bodies, laser-welded and hermetically sealed, providing an IP68/IP69K ingress protection rating that prevents moisture and dust from entering the bodies. This also ensures they remain protected even in chemical washdowns after production.

 

The CBL series features models with force ranges from 250 kg up to 100 T, whereas the CX series force ranges from 1T up to 30T.

 

These load cells can be mounted within the Laumas V10000 mounting plates, a passive mechanical mounting kit designed with a stainless steel body. This form of mounting plate is ideal for mounting the CBL or CX series compression load cell within the agitator tank footing above, securing up to 15 tonnes each. This V10000 feature anti-tilt constraints, consisting of two threaded rods with self-locking nuts.
