The HARTING 09400060311 Han 6 HPR Base Panel Screw Locking is a size 6B bulkhead-mounted base housing from HARTING's Han® HPR series — a premium range of heavy-duty connector housings designed specifically for harsh outdoor environments. Where standard Han B housings target industrial indoor and general-purpose outdoor use, the HPR series adds a triple environmental protection rating (IP65, IP68, and IP69/IPX9K), screw locking for maximum connector security, and a powder-coated corrosion-resistant aluminium die-cast body in jet black (RAL 9005). This combination makes the HPR the housing of choice for applications subject to high-pressure or high-temperature water jets, prolonged submersion, or aggressive outdoor conditions.

Han® HPR: The High-Protection Housing Range

The HPR designation identifies HARTING's housing range engineered for the most demanding outdoor and washdown environments. The key differentiator is the triple IP rating — IP65 (dust-tight, water jets), IP68 (continuous submersion), and IP69/IPX9K per ISO 20653 (high-pressure, high-temperature water jets up to 80°C at close range). IP69K protection is critical in applications involving regular pressure washing or steam cleaning — food and beverage adjacent processing, outdoor infrastructure, agricultural machinery, and marine/offshore equipment. Standard Han B housings do not carry the IP69 rating.

Screw locking at 4 Nm provides a mechanically secure, tamper-resistant closure that resists vibration-induced loosening better than lever-based systems, making it appropriate for high-vibration environments and applications where inadvertent disconnection would have serious consequences.

Housing Construction

Aluminium die-cast body with powder-coat surface finish in RAL 9005 jet black. The powder coat provides additional corrosion resistance on top of the inherent properties of die-cast aluminium, and the black finish gives the HPR range a visually distinctive appearance in the field. NBR (nitrile rubber) seals maintain the IP65/68/69 ratings across the operating temperature range of -40°C to +125°C.

This is the bulkhead-mounted base (panel-mount) version — fixed to a panel or enclosure wall, accepting a Han E® insert and mating with a corresponding HPR hood to complete the connector assembly.
