Linear measurement with Hall Effect Sensor, Analog Output, Available 3.8m, 7.5m, and 10.1m ranges

The UniMeasure JX-HM series linear transducers offers a reasonably priced component, able to perform in moderate duty applications in dry or wet conditions. The IP67 thermoplastic enclosure body is able to withstand chemicals, oil, rain, or washdown. The wire rope is protected from debris during extraction and retraction by an integrated dust wiper. As a sensing device, a non-contacting multi-turn absolute magnetic encoder is used, making it impervious to wear in dithering or vibrating environments. The unit can come with a voltage output (0 to 5V, 0 to 10V, ±5V, and ±10V) or a current output (4 to 20mA or 0 to 20mA). Removal of a sealed access hatch on the rear of the unit (See FIG 1 below) reveals DIP switches that may be used for selecting the desired voltage or current outputs, and also push buttons that may be used for programming the zero and span settings. Zero and span may be set anywhere within the range of the transducer.
