What's the difference between a Pressure Transmitter and a Pressure Transducer?
An ESI pressure transmitter is a measuring device that is very similar to a pressure transducer. They both convert one form of energy to another, and then provide an output signal electronically or visually. These signals are sent to a connected device, which translates them into useful data for monitoring and record-keeping. The difference is that ESI pressure transmitters send signals as currents, or milliamps (mA).
*It is important to note that transmitters and transducers do not change or control pressure.
How do you decide which one to use?
For long-distance applications, pressure transmitters are the best option as they are less susceptible to signal loss and are more resistant to electrical interference. ESI pressure transmitters use the same Silicon-on-Sapphire (SOS) technology that ESI is known for, so you can guarantee that you are getting a highly reliable, durable and accurate pressure measurement device.
