DIS Inclinometers

Inclinometers
DIS Sensors

Inclinometers, also known as tilt sensors, are integral for monitoring and measuring the angular positioning of objects. DIS Sensors Inclinometers can be used across a range of applications in rugged and harsh environments, such as construction, mining and geotechnical engineering.

DIS Inclinometers are based upon Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems, or MEMS technology. This technology allows capacitance differences to be converted into an analogue signal by a small mechanical sensor chip. This analog signal changes based on the tilt angle of the sensor.

The range of inclinometers in the ADM range is broken into two groups, characterised by D for Dynamic and N for Safety. Users can find these letters typically at the end of the product model number.
DIS Dynamic Inclinometers
DIS QG inclinometers ending in ‘D’ are described as dynamic inclinometers. The dynamic range of inclinometers is designed for applications where a standard inclinometer would be too noisy, requiring something more robust.

Dynamic inclinometers feature clean, gyro-compensated angle measurements, taken by a gyroscope and a Kalman filter, which removes spikes in tilt measurement caused by vibrations and shocks.

DIS QG65D

Powered by 10-32VDC input and produces 4-20mA output. Both models feature IP65 housing.

DIS QG76D

Powered by 10-32VDC and communicates via CANOpen interface. This model features an IP67-rated stainless steel housing.

DIS QG76D-SDXYh-090H-CAN-C(F)M-UL
•    A dual-axis inclinometer intended for a 90° range.

DIS N Safety Inclinometers

DIS QG inclinometers ending ‘N’ are described as safety-certified inclinometers. The safety inclinometers are designed to meet the stringent safety standards of SIL2/PLd approval. These inclinometers are intended for applications where a system failure would lead to human harm. This range features internal redundancy; for this reason, it may feature dual outputs and dual power supply.
