IECEx Certified Process Refractometers – Vaisala PR53GPEX range
Vaisala IECEx-certified process refractometers are now available to order from ADM.
The EX-certified PR53GPEX refractometers meet IECEx Zone 0 and Zone 2 safety standards, with wetted and non-wetted parts featuring a corrosion-resistant AISI 316L stainless steel construction. For PR53GEPX process refractometers certified for Zone 0 environments, a galvanic isolator is installed between the potentially explosive area and the refractometer for safe operation.
These EX-certified process refractometers can be readily used in harsh conditions, such as nitric and caustic acid environments. An example is the use of PR53GPEX process refractometers in alkylation. The PR53GPEX is used to monitor sulfuric acid concentration during alkylate production. With continuous concentration monitoring from the PR53GPEX, this process reduces overall wasted resources, resulting in savings in resource management, time, and associated costs.
