Vaisala Inline Process Refractometers for Sanitary Applications
Vaisala Polaris PR53-AC – This is a compact In-line type suitable for the Food and Beverage (F&B) Industry. It is typically used for sanitary production lines of sugar solutions, Brix measurements, dairy products, and various kinds of beverages.
The key advantage of the PR53-AC is its hygienic compact design along with its 3-A and EHEDG certifications.
Vaisala Polaris PR53-AP – This is a sanitary probe-type refractometer designed for in-tank measurements in the F&B Industry. It is commonly used in jam cookers, mixing tanks, vessels, kettles, and cookers for measuring sugar solutions, Brix, total solids, dairy products, and beverages.
The main advantage of the PR53-AP is its long probe design, which provides representative measurements in tanks and is well suited to high-temperature processes.

Vaisala Polaris PR53-GC – This is a compact in-line refractometer designed for general industrial applications, particularly within the chemical processing industry. It is highly suitable for use in industrial pipelines and process lines for measuring acids, alkalis, alcohols, hydrocarbons, and solvents.
The PR53-GC compact design allows for straightforward out-of-the-box installation in standard industrial process applications.
Vaisala Polaris PR53-GP – This is a probe-style refractometer developed for general industrial use, especially in the sugar and petrochemical industries. It is commonly used for crystallisers, wet scrubbers, reactors, transport pipelines, and blending and distillation operations.
The key feature of the PR53-GP is its extended probe configuration intended for processes within challenging installation environments, such as high temperatures – for which an optional cooling cover is available.

Vaisala Polaris PR53-W – This is a valve-body type refractometer designed for large pipelines in chemical, biochemical, and pharmaceutical processing.
The PR53-W is designed to withstand highly corrosive chemicals, including sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, sodium hydroxide, and tolerate demanding process environments where other standard process instrumentation may fail to operate.
